What would you do to get an extra hour's sleep every morning? The Kid'Sleep toddler globetrotter clock was designed by a father fed up with early morning wake ups. The Kid'Sleep clock was features a picture of a happy sheep hiking in the daytime and a sleeping sheep at night. Simply set the digital clock to the correct time, set the time you want your child to wake up and let your child know that they can only get out of their bed when the happy sheep is showing on the clock. In general, this concept can be understood by children from approximately 2.5 years old.

The clock will illuminate with a gentle light to show the sleeping sheep, until it switches to the hiking sheep at the chosen time. It does not make any noise so if your child in fact learns to sleep longer, they will keep sleeping through the change.

It can also be used as an alarm clock if required with a rooster crowing at the appointed wake up time.

You've got to try this!

The Globetrotter model is slightly smaller than the Standard model . It is perfect for use while travelling to keep up continuity with the home routine and the clever clam shape design protects the face of the clock. However, it is also is large enough for day to day use at home with a 13cm diameter. It runs on 4 AA batteries and does not need to be plugged into a power point and may be preferable for younger children. The Kid'Sleep clock should not be left within reach of children under 3(though it appears pretty indestructible to us with its clever clam shape design).

  1. Great idea too many issues for busy little hands

Posted by Kathleen on 21st Jul 2010

Initial problems with low battery charge resulting in unreliable waking sheep. After getting new full strength batteries things went well until fiddling toddler fingers changed the time and alarm buttons. A device like this must be reliable all the time or all the hard work done to keep kids in bed until the sheep wakes up is undone all too often. I tried to cover the buttons, but that didn't seem to be kid proof either.
However my little man loves it when the sheep wakes up and we love it when that's the time he gets up

  2. The sheep woke up!

Posted by Melanie on 21st Jul 2010

Our 2 and a half year old was waking around 5am/5.30am every morning. Since introducing the sheep clock she is now happy to stay in her bed until the sheep wakes up. She now wakes up around 6.30am and comes into our room very excited to let us know the sheep is awake. It has been great in this respect and we are enjoying getting up at a slightly more normal time.
There are a few downsides that we have found with this clock. The buttons on the back are far too easy to change and just by picking up the clock you can bump the setting buttons and accidentally reset the time or alarm time. This caused us a few teething problems as if the sheep doesn't get up when he is suppose to, there is only so long a toddler is willing to wait. So, it really needs to be checked every night before bed to make sure both time and alarm time are correct. The other problem for us was the night light. At night when the sheep is asleep, there is a very bright night light which we're not terribly fond of. We haven't worked out how to disable the night time light but keep the daytime light so she can see it's morning when the sheep gets up. Overall though, it has been a great way to increase the time she sleeps in until in the morning. We have found now, that even though the sheep is set to wake up at 6.05am, she is getting up more like 6.30am which is great as it means she actually sleeping longer.

  3. Awesome Sanity and Sleep Saver!!

Posted by Amy C on 11th Jul 2010

Our 3yo used to wake up and come into our room at all hours of the morning, obviously because he had no way of knowing what time it was.

His average wake time was 5.30am and slowly over the course of weeks, we have extended this to 6.30am. He excitedly comes in exclaiming 'my clock has changed!!'

The only fault is that our son has learned, that by pressing all the buttons at once, he can get it to change AND sound the alarm... so I had to buy some stick on Velcro and put it up on the wall where he can't reach it, but can see it. The Velcro enables me to pull it off the wall to activate the 'sleeping sheep' and change the batteries.

A great product and a sanity saver for sleep deprived parents.

  4. "Sheep awake, mummy!"

We got this clock for our 2yo who wanted to start the day at 5am! She loved having her own special clock & within 3 days we were getting an extra hour sleep each morning! We crept the alarm forward a few minutes each day and now she gets up at 6.30am, racing into our room full of excitement to show us the 'Sheep awake!'
The only downside for us was the nightlight, as she had never used one before so didn't sleep very well at first with the brightness...then clever daddy disabled it & it's been perfect since.
I have been recommending this clock to all my friends with toddlers, it is such a great simple, effective product!

  5. Sheeping sleep a winner

This clock worked so well for our early rising 4 year old that we got one for our 2 year old as well. You can adjust the time the sheep wakes up and it is easy to take with you when you are away from home.
