The noise reduction rating (NNR) of these ear muffs is 22. That is, when properly worn they reduce the volume of the sound heard by the wearer by 22 decibels. This is a significant reduction. Your child will still be able to hear wearing them (and of course when awake will be able to see you talking to them), but the level of dangerous noise has been reduced.

The hearing protector is easy to wear, with a low profile and no protruding parts. The wide, comfortable sealing rings are filled with a unique combination of fluid and foam, which gives optimum sealing and low contact pressure, ensuring the best possible comfort even during long periods of use.

Although they are recommended for babies from 6 months onwards, they will also fit a lot of younger babies too. Parents have successfully used the ear muffs on babies as young as 6 weeks old.
